Unpopular opinion: I started using a cheap spray bottle with apple juice on my brisket after 3 hours

Always got dry edges before. Now the bark sets up perfect and the meat stays crazy juicy. Anyone else try something weird that actually worked?

Honestly, where did you hear about the apple juice thing? I read a forum post a while back where a guy swore by spraying his pork shoulder with straight up cherry soda. Said the sugar helped the bark and the acid kept things tender. Tbh I thought he was nuts, but I guess the same idea works here with the juice. Might have to give your method a shot next weekend.

Yo, that cherry soda trick is wild. I wonder if the type of sugar matters though, like high fructose corn syrup vs real cane sugar. Might change how the bark sets up.

I always thought spraying was a waste of time, but after seeing @daniel_cooper34's cherry soda comment, I tried the apple juice thing and it's a total game changer.
