Vent: Blew $200 on a pellet hopper auger that was the wrong size

Ordered a replacement auger for my Traeger last month without double checking the model number. Cost me $200 with shipping and it was about 2 inches too long, so it jammed up on the first smoke. Took me three days to realize the seller sent me the one for the newer Pro series, not my old Timberline. Sent it back but the restocking fee ate $40, so now I'm out that plus two ruined racks of ribs. Anyone else gotten burned by online parts listings that don't match the manual? How do you verify fit before you drop cash?

Did you measure the old auger before you ordered, or just trust the part number?
