PSA: That guy at the Denver hardware store warned me about cheap caulk and he was right

Last spring I tried to save $12 on a tube of no-name caulk for my bathroom reno. The guy behind the counter literally told me "you'll be back in 6 months." I blew him off because I thought he was just upselling. Fast forward to last week and I had mold creeping up the tub edge because the cheap stuff cracked after 3 months. Spent 4 hours scraping it all out and reapplying with a $10 tube of the good stuff. Has anyone else been burned by trying to save a few bucks on sealant?

Bought the cheap white stuff at a local shop and it yellowed in two months flat.

That's a real shame, especially when you think you're getting a good deal. Nothing worse than something that looks nice and then turns on you like that. I've had that happen with a few things around the house, and it's just frustrating. Hope you can find something that holds up better next time.
