That moment I realized my whole renovation material ordering system was costing me $200 a month
I was going through my receipts from the past 6 months for a big kitchen job in Peoria. I always ordered materials as I needed them, small batches from the local big box store. Turned out I was paying $15 to $20 extra per trip in delivery fees and markups. Plus the gas running back and forth. Then I finally sat down and added it all up. I was throwing away close to $2400 a year just because I hated planning ahead. Anyone else catch themselves doing something dumb like this for years before the numbers hit you?

Planning is cheaper than panic buying every time.

@thea602 same here honestly. I started buying extra canned goods and rice every time I went shopping and it just built up without me noticing. Now I got a small cabinet full of stuff I rotate through. Its way less stressful than running out of milk at 10pm and having to pay double at the corner store. Plus when sales hit I actually save money instead of impulse buying random stuff.
