I was digging through a dead subreddit from 2019 and found a user who said the inspection reports for the I-40 bridge near Memphis were being ignored because repair costs would blow the budget. They even named the exact contractor who flagged the cracks and got sidelined. Has anyone else gone back to check if those early warnings actually line up with what finally made the news?

That forum post was up almost 18 months before the fracture was actually found. I remember reading that thread back then and thinking it was just another conspiracy take, but the timeline matches up way too clean.
