Warning: the Reddit post calling the Zillow lawsuit in 2019 sat ignored for 11 days
Someone posted the now-famous analysis to r/realestate on a Tuesday and it got 3 upvotes and one snarky reply about tinfoil hats, then it vanished from the front page for over a week. I pulled it up on archive.org last night and the original poster actually nailed the exact agency and the exact algorithm quirk 10 months before any news outlet touched it. Anyone got other examples of a post that sat there dead before the same story exploded everywhere?
That archived post proves nothing though. Upvotes are not a quality filter, they are a timing and luck filter. Half the "predicted it first" posts I have dug up were vague enough to fit five different outcomes, and the OP just got lucky picking the one that hit. The 11 days thing is also just how Reddit works, small subs bury stuff all the time, it does not mean the idea was suppressed or ignored for some deeper reason.
