Bought a certified pre-owned SUV last spring and 8 months later the transmission went out, dealer said I missed the 60-day powertrain warranty window by 7 months.
The paperwork said 'certified' but after digging into the fine print the certification was just a 50-point inspection that didn't cover the transmission at all, so should dealers be required to actually fix stuff they miss during those checks or is it buyer beware all the way down?

Read an article that said those "certified" labels are mostly marketing fluff.

Look at who's actually paying for those certifications. Usually the companies themselves, not some independent group.

Is it really that bad, @henryt18? I've seen some of those labels on stuff I bought. Feels like half the time it's just a sticker.
