I was sure the 'chip shortage' was just a cover for price hikes, but a supplier showed me a photo of a container ship in Long Beach with 200 pallets of microcontrollers just sitting there.
Has anyone else had a source give you proof that changed your mind on a big news story?

What kind of microcontrollers were they, and did your source say why they were just sitting? That's a crazy image to see after hearing about shortages for so long. It makes you wonder if the whole supply chain is just stuck at certain points instead of missing parts. I'd want to know if that ship was waiting for trucks or a warehouse or what. A single picture can really shake up what you thought you knew.

Yeah, that kind of proof can really flip your thinking. I had a friend in logistics show me their port tracking data last year, and it was full of ships just stuck waiting, not empty. It wasn't that parts didn't exist, they were just trapped in a traffic jam. Like eric_adams11 said, it's often a clog, not a lack. Seeing the real data made me drop a lot of the conspiracy stuff I was buying into online.
