Vent: I thought the airport security changes were pointless, but the background info made sense.
I read the headlines and assumed it was just more hassle. After looking into the full report, I see why they had to update the rules.

That "security theater" line is so true... it reminds me of the time I got pulled aside because my hair clip set off the scanner. They made me take it out and went through my whole bag, and my hair just fell down all messy. Felt so silly standing there holding this tiny metal clip while they swabbed my hands for explosives. It's those little moments that make the whole thing feel like a weird performance.

Ugh, I totally disagree on this one. Reading the report didn't change my mind at all. Every time I fly, the line is slower and the rules seem more random. They keep adding steps but it never actually feels safer, just more annoying. The whole system is just security theater to make people feel better. I've never seen it stop a real problem.

Security theater is everywhere, not just airports. Like at my local library, they make you show ID to enter, but then anyone can walk in from the back door. It feels like they just want to look strict without actually being secure.
