Went back to the old Toledo newsroom where I started in 1998, the scanner room is a podcast studio now
Half the building got sold off and the cops reporter who used to toss me the overnight log is doing a true crime show in the same room. The stories got longer and the deadlines got weird, but somebody still has to knock on doors and find the family, that part never made the layoffs. What's a local story you only understood after someone sat down and walked you through it?
