Wondering why the warehouse fire in Dayton got 2 days of coverage and then vanished
Last Tuesday a warehouse off Route 4 in Dayton burned for about 14 hours and the local paper ran one story, then nothing. I know a guy who drives for a delivery company nearby and he said the building had been cited twice since 2019 for stacked pallets blocking exits. Nobody has said a word about the citation history since the fire, so I keep checking the paper for a follow up and keep getting nothing. Has anyone here tracked a local story like this and figured out where the later details end up?
Man, a buddy of mine went through this exact thing in a town over in Butler County. A strip mall caught fire back in 2021, and his insurance guy told him the owner had like three open code violations about bad wiring. The local paper did one big piece the day after, then total silence. He ended up finding the rest of the story buried in the city council meeting notes online, of all places, just a line about the permit getting pulled. Stuff like that slides by because nobody assigns a reporter to follow it once the flames are out.
