Am I the only one who thinks Steve Jobs is way overpraised?

I used to think he was a genius too, then I read about how he refused to let his daughter get treatment for cancer and basically relied on alternative medicine. After reading Walter Isaacson's book, it hit me that he wasn't some visionary but a pretty mean guy who took credit for other people's work at Apple in the 80s. Does anyone else feel like we let his charisma gloss over the not so great stuff?

Wait, he actually denied his kid cancer treatment? That's insane.

Yeah the whole denying cancer treatment thing is wild. That part really messed me up when I read the book too. It actually made me think about how we do this all the time with people in our own lives not just famous guys like Jobs. Like at work there's always that one person who talks a big game in meetings and everyone thinks they're amazing but you know they barely do anything while the quiet person who actually does all the work gets no credit. It's the same pattern just on a smaller scale.

Wait, is that true about the kid too? I remember reading he tried some weird alternative stuff first but I didn't realize it went that far with his own family, that's just heartbreaking.
