Finally passed 500 vinyl records in my collection
I hit 502 records last weekend after finding a stack of 1970s jazz at a garage sale for $10. It surprised me because I never planned to collect this many, but now I see why people pretend to love dead musicians like Miles Davis even if they only own Kind of Blue. Has anyone else accidentally crossed a milestone like this with a hobby they didn't think would grow?

Ha, I used to be the exact same way about people and their vinyl collections. I always figured folks were just showing off with all those jazz and classic rock records, like they were trying to prove something. But then I found a crate of 60s soul albums at a thrift store for cheap, and something just clicked. Now I'm sitting at around 200 records and I finally get the appeal of owning the physical thing, even if I only listen to a few tracks from each. It's not about pretending, it's about having a little piece of history you can hold. What was the first record you bought that really got you hooked?
