Princess Diana worship at a funeral I went to last year felt so forced
I was at a family gathering in Ohio last June and my cousin brought out this whole shrine to Princess Diana with candles and photos. People were crying and saying she was the most perfect person who ever lived. I brought up that she did some questionable stuff like the BBC interview drama and got glared at for 10 minutes straight. Has anyone else dealt with that weird blind idol worship for a dead celeb who wasn't actually a saint?

Tbh people just love drama and making everything a bigger deal than it is.

Whoa, wait, your cousin had a whole shrine? Like with candles and everything? That's a bit much for someone they never even met. I get being sad about her death, she was young and it was tragic, but setting up an altar and crying over it at a family gathering? That sounds more like a cult than a memorial. And people getting mad at you for mentioning the BBC thing is wild, like she was a real person with flaws, not a cartoon character.

Yeah, exactly! The way people treat dead celebrities like perfect saints is strange, they weren't flawless just because they passed away young.
