Spent 3 hours arguing about Kurt Cobain's legacy at a bar in Portland

Guy next to me swore Nirvana changed music forever. I said they were just loud and sloppy. Took me way too long to realize I was arguing with someone who hadn't listened past Smells Like Teen Spirit. Has anyone else had a dead celebrity debate that went nowhere fast?

Oh man, that's rough lol. How do you even argue with someone who's only heard the one song? I've had the same thing happen with people trying to debate Tupac vs Biggie and they only know California Love. It's like trying to talk about a whole album based on a 30 second clip. Honestly, I feel your pain on wasting that kind of time haha.

Yeah the "30 second clip" thing is spot on, @jordan_henderson13. What gets me is when they act like that one track defines the whole artist's career like you'd judge a movie by its trailer.
