Tried the 'read their last interview first' trick and it killed 3 of my music heroes in one sitting
I used to argue with people who called a certain dead grunge frontman overrated until I actually read his final Rolling Stone sit-down from 1993 and realized he spent most of it trash talking his own fans, so now I read the last interview before I defend anybody, and has anyone else done this and had it backfire on a hero they loved?

Which hero hit you the hardest when you read their last words? I went down this same rabbit hole after a certain punk legend spent his final interview ripping the scene he built, and it honestly made me respect him more, not less. Something about a guy who stops pretending at the end feels more real than any polished goodbye.
