Hot take: I thought I could eyeball a bottom bracket facing cut
I was in my home shop trying to fix a creak on a steel frame from Portland, and I skipped the alignment gauge because the old faces looked okay. The new BB went in rough and the creak came back after 10 miles. How do you guys make sure the tool is square before you start cutting?

Just eyeball it every time.

A measuring cup saved me from so many baking disasters honestly.

Phoenix must have a magic kitchen where flour and sugar always cooperate. My eyeballs have a terrible track record with baking soda. I'll stick with the cup.

Nah, measuring cups are for rookies who don't trust their instincts yet. Baking is about feel, not precision every single time.
