Question about those cheap carbon paste tubes that always split open
I lost about $15 and a whole morning's work when a brand new tube of carbon assembly paste burst in my bag, coating everything, and I'm torn between blaming myself for not checking the seal or the brand for using such flimsy packaging.

Funny you mention this, reminds me of the time I bought a tube of superglue from a dollar store and it exploded in my pocket on a first date. I spent the whole dinner with my hand stuck to my jeans trying to play it cool. The glue turned my pocket into a rock solid lump and I had to cut the whole thing off with scissors later that night. At least your paste was carbon based, mine was just cheap sticky nightmare fuel.

That split tube problem is way more common than it should be. The real issue isn't the seal, it's the cheap plastic they use that gets brittle. I've seen it happen with a few different brands straight off the shelf. Your best bet is to transfer the paste into a small, sturdy plastic jar as soon as you buy it. Saves the mess and you won't waste the product.
