Rant: A customer in Denver pointed out my chain cleaning method was wrong

He said I was just moving grit into the links instead of lifting it out, which I'd never thought about. Now I use a stiff brush and solvent in a small tray, working from the back of the chain. What's your go-to method for a really clean drivetrain?
