That $180 truing stand I bought off marketplace was a trap

Honestly, I grabbed a bargain truing stand from a guy in Dayton last month and it wobbled worse than the wheel I was fixing. Lost about $40 on resale and a full afternoon chasing a hop that was just the stand flexing. Anyone else get burned by used shop tools that looked fine in the photos?

Marketplace deals on tools are like 90% luck anymore, people sell junk that looked fine in a dark garage or a blurry pic. Same thing happens with used pressure washers and even kitchen appliances I've grabbed, the flaws never show up until you're elbow deep in the work. Sometimes you gotta pay full price just to get a tool that actually does its job without fighting you the whole time.

I mean, maybe it's just user error, most wobble is fixable.
