The rear derailleur hanger alignment myth I believed for 3 years
I spent 3 years aligning hangers with just the wheel in the dropout, eyeballing it from behind, and wondering why 11 speed bikes still shifted like garbage. Finally bought a proper DAG 2.2 tool last month, and the hanger on a customer's Trek was off by almost 8mm, which no amount of barrel adjusting would ever fix. How many of you are still doing the eyeball method, and did you ever figure out how far off you really were?
