Watched a guy at a bike co-op in Austin try to true a wheel with zip ties

He spent 20 minutes tightening zip ties around the spokes before someone finally pointed him to the truing stand. Who actually thinks that's gonna work on a 36-spoke wheel?

I read somewhere that in experiments like this, people actually take longer to speak up because they're all waiting for someone else to break the silence first lol. It's like that social pressure thing where nobody wants to be the first one to say something stupid or awkward. 20 minutes seems crazy though, I've got to admit I would probably blurt something out way sooner just because I can't handle the quiet. But apparently in a big group setting with strangers, people get paranoid and think if they speak up they'll look dumb. Human nature is weird, I guess we're all just a bunch of awkward monkeys deep down.
