Appreciation post: The coworker who got me through The Wire

Last winter, I was stuck on season 3 of The Wire and just couldn't get into it. My coworker Dave sat me down in the break room and said 'you have to push through the political stuff, it all comes together.' He even drew a diagram of the different crews and cops on a napkin to help me keep track of everyone. That one conversation turned me into a super fan and now I've binged the whole series three times. Has anyone else had a friend who saved a show for you like that?

That napkin diagram is genius, most people give up because the show doesn't hold your hand. I had a buddy do the same thing with The Americans, drew a timeline of the fake marriages on a paper towel.

My brother tried mapping out all the fake relationships in The Americans on a pizza box, still has it framed in his garage. Makes you wonder how much time we actually waste when we could just be enjoying the show, right @nathankim? Some people really need to see it all laid out to keep track of who is sleeping with who.
