Binged The Bear in one weekend and it broke me

I used to watch shows while scrolling on my phone. Half paying attention. Thought I was still getting the story. Then The Bear's episode seven hit me with that continuous take in the kitchen. No phone, no distractions. Realized I had been missing all the subtle acting and sound design for years. What show made you actually put your phone down?

Oh I was definitely "multi-tasking" too... until I realized my multitasking was just me dropping my phone on my face.

Oh, I get this completely. That episode really makes you stop and just take it all in. I've been guilty of the same thing, watching with my phone nearby, but some shows demand your full attention. This one definitely does.

Yeah I was the same way... always had my phone out "multi-tasking" while watching stuff. But then I saw that episode and realized how much I was missing. The way the pots clang and the breathing gets heavier as the stress builds up... its like a whole other layer of storytelling I never noticed before. Kinda makes me wonder what else I've been zoning out on.

Frr @iris_schmidt, that episode is basically a masterclass in why phones ruin shows. I was the same way until I watched Dark on Netflix. The first scene has this old man walking through a creepy tunnel and the music is so specific but quiet. I picked up my phone to check something and when I looked back I had no clue what was happening. Turned out that walking sound and the way the light flickered were actual clues to the time travel stuff. Since then I can't even have my phone in the same room during a show. It's wild how much storytelling happens just through sound and tiny visual details we totally miss when we're half looking.
