Figured out the 2x speed trick for boring episodes and it's a game changer

I was stuck on a show everyone raves about but the middle seasons dragged SO bad I almost quit. I set my player to 1.5x speed for the slow character arcs and suddenly I'm through 3 seasons in a week. Anyone else use speed adjustments to get past the dull parts?

Friend of mine did this with a crime drama he swore was amazing. He cranked it to 1.7x for the first two seasons and finally saw what the hype was about. Now he uses that trick for any show that takes too long to get to the point.

That speed thing is wild but it actually makes me think about something else entirely. @lucast81 your friend might be onto something, but I wonder if cranking up the speed is just masking the real issue. Shows these days love to pad everything out with slow shots and empty dialogue to hit that 45 minute mark. Maybe the trick isn't to watch faster but to find shows that respect your time from the start. A good show doesn't need speed hacks to work.
