Hit 500 episodes of The Office last week and it hit different

I was scrolling through my watch history and realized I've seen The Office from start to finish 12 times now, that's like 500 episodes. Has anyone else accidentally clocked a ridiculous number on a comfort show and felt kinda weird about it?

Whoa, that's a lot of Scranton! I wonder if rewatching that many times actually changes how you perceive the characters' bad moments versus good ones as you get older.

Rewatching as an adult makes me notice how much more complicated the supporting characters are - like Toby isn't just the killjoy HR guy, he's actually a deeply lonely person trying to hold onto some dignity in a workplace that treats him like furniture.

Got a small thing to correct real quick - you said 500 episodes but The Office only has 201 episodes total, including both the US and UK versions. That's still a lot of rewatches though. 12 times through the whole US series is like 24 days straight of Scranton nonsense. I've only done maybe 4 or 5 full runs but I started noticing different things each time, like how Michael's cringe moments feel less funny and more sad after you've seen the whole arc of him just wanting to be liked. The Toby thing hits different for sure, he's got this whole quiet tragedy going on that you totally miss the first couple times through.
