I had to pick between finishing 'Severance' or starting 'The Bear' last weekend.

I chose 'Severance' and ended up staying up until 3 AM because I just had to know what was in that basement! Now I'm so tired but totally hooked. Has anyone else gotten totally wrecked by a show's cliffhangers?

Same thing happened to me with Lost back in the day. Used to stay up till 2am on Wednesdays with a friend, texting each other theories about the hatch. One time I literally fell asleep with my laptop open on my chest and woke up to a frozen screen of Locke staring at the numbers. Missed the whole next episode because I was too tired to follow it. But honestly, those nights lost to wondering are almost better than the actual answers sometimes.

What's the big deal with cliffhangers? I actually like them. They make you sit with the story and guess what happens next. The best part of Severance for me was the week between episodes, talking with friends about all the wild theories. Getting all the answers right away just feels like a letdown.
