Three episodes in and I finally noticed the dual timeline trick
I was watching this crime show last night and got confused when a character aged backwards between scenes, took me 3 episodes to realize the whole thing flips between 2005 and 2019. I always skip intros so I never saw the year cards, that's what tipped me off when I finally let one play. Anyone else miss basic stuff like that because you skip the opening credits every time?

Skipping intros is exactly how you miss this stuff. Those year cards are there for a reason and once you cut them out you're flying blind. Half these shows put the whole setup in the opening credits, the dates, the location, even who's alive and who isn't. Netflix makes it worse by auto skipping to the next episode so you never even get a chance to catch it. The aging backwards thing should've been a clue way earlier though, that's a pretty big tell. Bet you went back and rewatched the first three after you figured it out, because now the whole thing probably makes way more sense.
