Tried a 3 episode rule and it backfired on a 23 episode show
I usually give any new show three episodes to hook me but I pushed through 8 episodes of this one because people online swore it got better. Turned out the whole season was slow and the payoff never came. Do you guys stick with a show hoping it gets good or cut it off early?

People online swore it got better" - yeah, sometimes you gotta trust the crowd and see it through.

Why would I trust people who lied about the first three episodes?

Oh honey, you're missing the ACTUAL problem here. People aren't lying about the show getting better, they're just convincing themselves it did because they already invested 6 hours of their life. That's called the sunk cost fallacy and it's real. You ever buy a movie ticket for a terrible film and then tell everyone it was "okay" just so you don't feel stupid? Same thing with these TV show fans. Trust your own gut, not the crowd who's just trying to justify their own bad choices.
