Unpopular opinion: I wasted $15 a month for 6 months on that streaming service that only has one good show.
Kept telling myself 'next month they'll add something new' but it was just that same detective drama over and over, so has anyone else found a better service for crime stuff?

Your buddy's story about the true crime channel hits home. I got stuck in a loop like that with a service that only had one good food show. The real waste wasn't the money, it was the mental energy of checking every month and being let down. It trains you to expect nothing new, so you stop looking for other options. That's the sneaky part they count on, you just get used to the disappointment.

Hey, what service was that? My buddy got stuck in the same loop with a true crime channel. He paid for months because he liked one documentary series, and they just kept replaying the same specials. He finally switched to a different app that has whole seasons of old police shows, which is way better for background noise.

kelly.patricia mentioned the home renovation fails loop and thats exactly the kind of thing that drives me nuts. I had the same problem with a music documentary app, paid for four months waiting for new stuff and it was just the same three bands over and over. What finally worked for me was just going to the library website. They have a free streaming section with old crime shows and some newer stuff too. It's not the fanciest selection but it's free and they add new things every couple weeks. I also found out my cable subscription gives me access to a whole on demand catalog I never knew about. Sometimes the answer is already sitting in something you already pay for.
