My phone autocorrected 'grout color' to 'gout color' in a work chat with my client

I sent the message to my client in Des Moines last Tuesday and she replied 'I hope that's not what you're using,' took me a solid 10 seconds to realize what I'd written, has anyone else had autocorrect completely ruin a professional message?

Oh man, "I'll bring the diarrhea" is legendary. That's the kind of mistake that follows you forever. What worked for me was just owning it right away with a quick follow-up email. Like "Haha autocorrect got me, meant diary!" and making a joke about it before they could think too hard. People get it, we all have dumb autocorrect fails. The key is don't try to explain it away or pretend it didn't happen, because that just makes it worse. My buddy did that once and his boss thought he was being serious for a full day before he finally came clean. Just laugh it off and move on, that's the only way to survive these things.

Oh @leewood, this hits close to home. My autocorrect once changed "meeting notes" to "meating notes" in a professional email to my boss (she never let me live it down). Autocorrect has a special kind of evil genius for the worst possible timing, honestly.
