That time a news anchor's teleprompter glitched mid-sentence and she just rolled with it

I was watching a local news clip from Phoenix last Tuesday where the anchor was talking about a school board meeting, then her teleprompter froze and she just started rambling about her cat's weird eating habits for 15 seconds before they cut to commercial. The deadpan look on her face when she realized what she said was priceless. Has anyone else seen a news blooper where the anchor completely improvised and made it way funnier than the script?

Oh man, I caught a clip from a Denver station where the guy was supposed to introduce a segment on holiday baking but his prompter died and he spent a solid 20 seconds describing how his dog ate an entire loaf of banana bread off the counter. The camera guy was shaking so bad you could tell he was dying laughing behind the lens.

Wait, is that really such a huge deal though? I mean yeah it's funny but people are acting like this guy had a full meltdown on live TV or something. He just ran out of stuff to say for like 20 seconds, that's not exactly the end of the world. I've seen news anchors completely lose it over way smaller things and no one makes that big of a deal about it. The dog eating a whole loaf of banana bread is kind of ridiculous though, my dog would do the same thing if given half the chance. But honestly, all the "omg he's a hero" comments seem overblown to me, he just talked about his dog for a bit.

Ha! And you know what makes it even better? That 20 seconds of pure, unscripted panic probably got more views than any polished segment they've run all month. The dog eating banana bread is just the cherry on top of a perfect storm of live TV chaos.
