That time I realized I'd been using the kettle wrong for 25 years
I always poured the water in before plugging it in, every single morning, until my sister-in-law from Leeds asked why I was doing it that way and showed me the fill line marker on the side. Now I'm wondering what other simple things I've been doing backwards all these decades, anyone else have a similar 'wait, what?' moment with an everyday gadget?

What makes you think the fill line means you should plug it in first, not that you've just been doing it better all along?
