Tried rebooting the router 6 times before a friend said to just unplug it for 30 seconds
My internet kept dropping every 10 minutes for three days. I called the ISP, reset the modem, even swapped out cables. Nothing worked. Then my buddy from Atlanta comes over, unplugs the power cord, waits a full 30 seconds, plugs it back in. Fixed it instantly. I felt like an idiot. Why does the simple stuff always get overlooked? Anyone else have a stupid simple fix that saved you hours?

Used to skip the 30 second rule. Not anymore. That fixed my whole week.

Wait, is the 30 second rule really that life changing?

The 30 second rule is honestly the universe's way of testing your patience, and I failed that test so many times before I learned my lesson. I used to think "what could possibly go wrong in 30 seconds?" and then I'd be scraping burnt toast crumbs out of the toaster for the next hour. Now I just stare at the microwave like a weirdo while it counts down. It's made my mornings way less chaotic, which is saying something since I still manage to spill coffee on myself twice a week.
