Watched a local news anchor sneeze into a handoff and the station left it in, so I clipped 12 of these moments and now I can't stop spotting them
Last Tuesday I was half watching the 6 o'clock news out of Sacramento when the sports guy went to hand off to the weather lady and let out this huge sneeze right into his elbow mid sentence. Nobody cut away, the camera just stayed on him for a good 3 seconds while he tried to recover. I started rewinding and clipping it, and that turned into a whole night of me hunting down other moments like this. I pulled 12 clips in one sitting, stuff like a reporter in Boise getting photobombed by a goose and a desk anchor reading the wrong story for 20 seconds before anybody caught it. Here is what surprised me: the small market stations leave way more of this stuff in than the big ones. My guess is they have fewer people in the booth watching for mistakes. Now I catch at least one of these almost every week, and my wife thinks I have a problem. Does anybody else notice this more on local channels than national ones, or am I just watching too much news?
