DAE keep a player aid cheat sheet for games they own three copies of?
Printed a one page summary of Spirit Island's fear and blight rules on a card and stuck it in the box lid, and my usual 4 player group cut our teach time from 20 minutes to about 6 with zero rulebook flips, so now I'm wondering if anyone else does this for heavy games or if I'm just over organizing things.
Small correction on Gloomhaven, the elemental infusion timing is actually printed right on the player mats and the element tracker, so your card is doubling up there. Monster focus is the real win though, that rule trips up every single group I've played with. The 3x5 card in the lid is smart because it keeps the info where you already are instead of a separate sheet that gets lost under the table. My Spirit Island card lives in the lid too and it has survived two moves and a spilled beer so far.
I did the exact same thing with Gloomhaven after our second campaign stalled out. Took a 3x5 index card and wrote the monster focus rules on one side and the elemental infusion timing on the other, taped it inside the lid. My group went from flipping through that brick of a rulebook every turn to just glancing at the card, probably saved us 15 minutes a session easy. Now every game over a certain weight gets a card, Arkham Horror got one for mythos phase order, and I keep a little stack of blanks in the closet for new pickups. The teach time thing is real too, my brother in law actually stayed awake for the Spirit Island teach last time which is a first. It's not over organizing, it's just respect for everyone's game night hours.
