Finally finished that 5-hour game of Twilight Imperium without any rules arguments
Had a copy of Twilight Imperium hit the floor last Sunday when my cat knocked it off the shelf and now half the tokens are scattered under the couch, but we still managed to play a full game at my friend's place in Denver without anyone flipping the table.

Read somewhere that some groups actually ban certain races to keep games under 6 hours. 5 hours without a single rules fight is straight up legendary.

Betting the real time saver is banning players who argue not races.

5 hours without a single rules fight is straight up legendary" - that honestly sounds fake to me @samrodriguez. I've been in groups where we argued for 20 minutes over whether a gnome could ride a regular dog or needed a special dog. Banning whole races to speed things up seems harsh though. Like what, no elves because someone takes too long picking spells? That's wild. But man, I can't imagine five hours of smooth sailing. My group would be lucky to get through one combat without someone pulling out the rulebook over line of sight or something.
