Group drafting wrong for 5 years, found out during a 3am setup

I always pulled the initiative token first before placing monsters, turns out the rulebook I had was a first printing and they flipped it in the second edition. It explained why some scenarios felt impossible, and my buddy at the shop in Austin finally showed me the FAQ. Anyone else been stuck on an outdated rulebook for a while?
