Heads up: My favorite eurogame fell apart mid-session and it split the group

I was running a 4-player game of a heavy worker placement game last Saturday (the one with the little wooden cubes and the rotating market board) and right as we got to the final scoring round, the player board for the blue faction just snapped in half. I'm talking clean crack right down the middle. Everyone froze for like 10 seconds. Half the table said we should just tape it and finish since we were 3 hours in already, the other half said the game was compromised and we should call it a draw. I ended up using a binder clip to hold it together and we finished the last two turns, but it felt super janky. Has anyone else had a game literally break during a heated session? Do you keep playing or throw in the towel?

Come on man, it's just a broken board. Tape it up and move on. You were three hours in and had one round left, that's way too deep to just call it quits over some cardboard. Sounds like the group just wanted an excuse to bail on the game.

Is it really that serious though @spencer_gonzalez1? Like yeah it's annoying but if the board is actually falling apart mid-game that changes the whole vibe. Taping it up might work for a round but it's not the same as playing properly.
