Hot take: My whole view on game teaching flipped after one messy night
Used to dump all the rules at once, which just glazed eyes over. Now I start with the goal and do a round together, and folks actually get it. Saw it click for my cousin who never plays heavy stuff, and now he's asking for more.

No kidding, @holly_grant, I'm stuck on that too. The fact that he actually asked is what gets me. Usually cousins just mooch off your games without saying anything. And now he wants more? That's next level. Sounds like you've got a real fan on your hands.

Man, that's a real turning point. I read something once about how asking for more is the biggest sign someone's actually hooked, not just killing time. It means they moved past just pushing buttons and started seeing the actual game. When a kid goes from taking your controller to asking for their own turn, you've basically won.
