I think people are wrong about the new scoring in Ticket to Ride: Europe
Everyone at my local game cafe in Seattle says the new station rule makes the game easier, but I've played it 12 times now and it actually forces you to plan more. You can't just grab long routes anymore because blocking is way more likely. What's your best score with the new rules?

My best score is a sad 98 points, which tells you how good my planning is. The stations do make blocking a real threat, don't they? Maybe I should stop trying for that eight-car route to Stockholm every single game.

Yeah but that's not a bad score at all, @felixhenderson... a lot of games end up in that range. The thing about the eight-car routes is they're a trap if you fixate on them early. You can't just plan for Stockholm from the start and hope the cards show up. The stations are there to help with the blocking, so maybe use one to save that big route instead of giving up on it. It's more about watching what colors other people are picking up and changing your plan.

Stockholm's a trap, @felixhenderson. How many stations do you save?
