Picked wooden tokens over plastic gems for my play group, zero regrets

Had to choose between getting the fancy acrylic gems or the plain wood cubes for our weekly meetup, went with the wood because they stack better and don't slide off the table when someone sneezes. 3 sessions in and everyone's actually complimented the feel of them, has anyone else swapped components just for the table feel and gotten surprised by the reaction?
