Spent 3 hours trying to sort my game collection by BGG weight ratings before realizing I don't even like heavy games.
I kept moving Gloomhaven and Twilight Imperium to the front of the shelf because they had high scores, but I haven't touched either in two years and I just play Carcassonne with my buddies on Friday nights, anyone else overthink their shelving system like this?

That's just how our brains work sometimes, we chase the thing that looks impressive on paper instead of what actually makes us happy. Same thing happens with people who buy expensive coffee machines but still grab a gas station cup every morning... we all get caught up in the numbers game. More often than not, the simple stuff is what sticks around in the long run.

Right? And honestly sometimes I wonder if its less about the stuff itself and more about the MOMENT of buying it. Like that little rush you get when you click purchase is what we're actually chasing, not the end result.

Wait, is everyone's brain wired that way or is it just us millennials? lol. My buddy spent like 2 grand on a fancy espresso setup and now it's just gathering dust in the corner of his kitchen. Meanwhile he's out here getting a gas station cappuccino every day because it's quicker. I guess we all fool ourselves into thinking the expensive version will change our whole routine or something. The simple stuff really does win in the end though, like my favorite hoodie that's totally falling apart but I still wear it all the time.
