TIL my board game collection hit 200 titles

I was reorganizing my shelves last night and actually counted them all. It matters because I swore I'd stop at 100, but that was three years ago. Anyone else have a collection that just quietly ballooned on them?

Honestly, I used to judge big collections as being too much! But seeing a number like 200 really puts it in a new light. It's not about hitting a limit, it's about having a whole library of fun options for any mood or group. That kind of variety is actually pretty cool. My own shelf has definitely grown past what I first planned, and now I get why. It just happens when you find so many great games.

My collection hit about 75 games and I felt totally overwhelmed. For me, having that many meant a lot just sat unplayed because the choice was too hard. I've found more fun in a tight shelf of 20 or so games we actually love and play all the time.

Wow, I totally get that. I used to think having a ton of games was just hoarding stuff you'd never play. But honestly, seeing a number like 200 makes me see it different. It's more like building your own personal game store. You've got a pick for every single friend group or lazy Sunday. My own shelf is way past my old limit now too, and I don't even feel bad about it. It just grows because you keep finding cool new things to try.
