Tried teaching my aunt Ticket to Ride and it went totally sideways
Honestly, I set it up thinking it would be a chill Sunday thing. I explained the rules, we started playing, and she just kept collecting train cards without building any routes. After like 45 minutes she had a huge pile and said 'I just like the colors.' Ngl, I learned that some people just enjoy the pieces more than winning. Has anyone else had a game night totally derailed by someone playing in a way you never expected?

So your aunt basically turned Ticket to Ride into a very chill game of train card solitaire? I love that she found her own fun in it (even if it completely wrecks the actual game). Makes you wonder how many other board games are secretly just fancy art collections for some people. At least she was having a good time, even if your route to victory was totally blocked.

Saw a whole blog post about people just collecting the art.

Honestly my Steam library is basically that. Bought so many games just for the cool pictures on the store page.
