Update: our Friday night group went from 6 players to 2 in about 8 months, and I'm trying to figure out who's right about why
Back in January we had six people showing up every Friday for our Twilight Imperium and Terraforming Mars nights, and by this month it's just me and Dave staring at a two player game of 7 Wonders Duel. Half the group says it's because three of them had kids in that span and Friday nights just stopped being free for them. The other half blames me for only bringing heavy 3 hour games and never breaking out the lighter stuff people could actually finish before midnight. I get both sides, but Dave thinks the real killer was us moving from his basement to the game store on 7th, since now people have to drive 20 minutes and pay for parking. So which is it, life changes, game choice, or the venue? Has your group survived a drop like this, and what actually brought people back?
