Blew my budget on a fancy fire blanket for the shop and it was totally worth it

Heard a story about a garage fire that spread fast because they didn't have proper fire gear nearby. A solid blanket is way better than a tiny extinguisher when something big catches. Smart move spending extra on that peace of mind.

Totally get that, I remember watching a test where a regular blanket just melted onto the metal while the fancy stuff actually held up. Makes you wonder how many people skimp on that one detail and regret it later.

My buddy down at the welding shop spent $30 on a cheap one and it basically just caught fire itself when a spark hit it. That right there is the thing I notice more and more people skimp on the one thing that could save their whole workshop or house. You see it everywhere people will drop hundreds on tools but balk at fifty bucks for a solid safety item. Then when something bad happens they're scrambling and the cheap stuff just makes everything worse. That peace of mind from knowing your blanket won't melt into a puddle is worth way more than the extra cash. It's like having a good smoke detector or a real fire extinguisher you don't notice it until you absolutely need it.
