I finally figured out why my tube expansions were always a bit off

I was showing a new guy how to roll tubes in a boiler at the plant, and he asked why I always started from the top. I realized I'd been doing it upside down for three years because my old foreman just pointed and grunted. Anyone else pick up a weird habit from a mentor that turned out to be totally backwards?

Honestly sounds like it still worked fine for three years. Sometimes the "wrong" way gets the job done just as well.

My old car had a check engine light on for its last 40,000 miles. I just learned to live with the little orange friend on the dash. It got me where I needed to go, wrong way and all.

See this everywhere with bad instructions.
