The pipe fitter's chalk line tip I learned in Baton Rouge stuck with me
Watched an old timer at the Exxon plant layout a 90 degree line with a 4 dollar chalk box and a tape measure, no square at all. He marked 3 feet one way, 4 the other, measured 5 across and that was it. Anyone else use the 3-4-5 method for big layouts or do you still haul a framing square around?
