Changed my mind about audiobooks after a 14 hour drive to Denver
I used to be that person who said audiobooks don't count as reading, thought it was cheating or something. Then last month I had to drive from Omaha to Denver for work and figured I'd try one, picked up Project Hail Mary on a whim. Now I'm halfway through my fifth book this month and wondering why I was so hung up on the format, anyone else flip on this?

Holy cow, five books in a month? That's wild. I had a similar thing happen but not with a road trip, I was stuck in the waiting room of a dentist for like three hours and someone mentioned the Martian audiobook. I was so skeptical at first but then Ray Porter's voice just clicked and now I listen while doing dishes or folding laundry. It's like the book becomes a movie in my head but I can still do stuff with my hands. Project Hail Mary is a great pick too, that one had me laughing out loud in the grocery store parking lot.

Actually I think it was narrated by Wil Wheaton, not Ray Porter.

Wait, Wil Wheaton? The same dude who played Wesley Crusher on Star Trek? I thought he only did sci-fi video game voices or something. That's wild, I never would have guessed he narrated audiobooks. I mean, Ray Porter is like the king of that stuff, his voice just fits those space stories perfectly. But hey, if Wheaton's version got you through a road trip, more power to him. I just can't picture him doing those intense science moments without sounding like he's about to give a speech to the Enterprise crew.
